Class of 2022 prepares for baccalaureate Mass and graduation this week

It’s graduation week, and for the first time since 2019 the senior class and their families will get to experience in-person events without any Covid restrictions. On Wednesday, seniors will have graduation practice and a senior breakfast on campus, graduation is Saturday morning, and the senior lock-in is Saturday evening. Sandwiched in between is the baccalaureate Mass on Thursday evening at 7:00 pm, which is one of the most formal and dignified events at St. Pius X.

This celebration Mass for the Class of 2022 and their families includes St. Pius administration, chaplain Fr. Michael Bremer, and several additional priests from the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

It’s traditionally been held at Saint Brigid Catholic Church in John’s Creek, but this year baccalaureate will be at the Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in Norcross.

“We decided to make the switch from St. Brigid to the Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Church because it was a long drive for some members of our community,” Fr. Michael explained. “We’ll also have some guest priests from around the archdiocese, so students will be able to see some priests from their own churches,” said Father Michael. “It should make it a pretty homey environment.”

Graduation is Saturday, May 13 at 8:00 am in the Long Forum at Greater Atlanta Christian School.
