We’re all familiar with Parkour and what it looks like in action, but what exactly *is* it and where did it get started? According to the official Parkour website, Parkour is a training method that was founded by a man in Paris in the late 1980s. Participants practice the training method by “overcoming obstacles in the natural and urban environments through natural movements and various techniques such as jumping, vaulting, balancing, and by doing parcours,” and its primary purpose is “to become strong physically and mentally, with the goal of being useful.”

We tested students’ athleticism here at St. Pius X and challenged them to show off their best Parkour skills.
