BREAKING: SPX League of Lions team picked up by FaZe Clan
March 31, 2023
This Saturday, head Esports coach Mr. Ellis Thomas announced a momentous achievement for his teams. The legendary and undefeated SPX Esports team has been picked up by the Esports conglomerate FaZe Clan for content and competitive gameplay.
“I’m so proud of our team. They have been putting in blood, sweat, and tears to get to this moment. Hopefully, now we can play on something other than the library computers. That would put us on a whole other level,” said Coach Thomas.
At the start of the 2023-2024 school year, the teams will be moving into the FaZe house and will join all SPX classes on Zoom.
Senior Sydney Farmer said that she “cannot wait to be involved in such a popular organization. I have been dreaming of this since I was a little girl. FaZe up!”
Her teammates shared similar sentiments.
“Oh my goodness, this is going to be awesome. We don’t have to play on the library computers anymore? AND we’re gonna be rich? What a time to be alive!” exclaimed senior Quinn Voss.
In this Esports acquisition, the spotlight is on star Gaming Lions athlete, senior Alexander Meyring. As the top-performing player on the SPX League of Lions team, Alexander will have a lot on his plate.
“So they actually gave me the login to the Twitter account. I don’t know why. I can do whatever I want now, I guess. I hope I get the master bedroom of the house,” said Meyring.
Meyring continued, “I’m excited to make content so I can show the noobs over here at FaZe how it’s actually done. They know I’m better than them. I’m just like that.”
Fan favorite John Nguyen (known in game as Altodragonmaster), could not hold back his excitement about the news, and could barely keep a smile on his face.
“I have to move?” Nguyen inquired.
When asked what they’re most excited about for moving into the FaZe house, the answers were a mixed bag.
Voss said, “The new jerseys.”
“As long as I don’t have to share a room with Alexander,” said Farmer.
“I can watch Alabama football games on the most advanced screens you can imagine,” Coach Thomas added.
The League of Lions will face the brightest lights they’ve seen, now that they are under the FaZe name. “We can only go up from here. 48th out of 63 teams isn’t ideal. We’re shooting for number 1.” said Coach Thomas. “We’re going to have upgraded facilities and team morale will be at an all time high. Let’s go Lions!”
