St. Pius X has a secret TikTok influencer living among us! Our very own Ms. Mary Martha Spear runs a TikTok page where she vlogs her life as a teacher and a dachshund owner.

Her TikTok account, @thedachshundteacher, has recently hit 2.6 million followers. She posts multiple videos a day, with content ranging from dog walk vlogs to “GRWM as a High School English Teacher” videos.

Her YouTube account with the same username recently achieved 1 million subscribers.

“YouTube contacted me last week to let me know that my 1 million subscriber gold play button will arrive next month. I can’t wait to display it in my classroom,” Ms. Spear said with pride.

This may come as a surprise to students who don’t know the AP senior English teacher very well because she refuses to let students use a computer in her classroom, let alone dare to pull out their phones. And although it may appear that she is not the most adept with technology, the truth is actually quite the opposite. Ms. Spear explained her reasoning for this technology lockdown in her class.

“I need to be so strict on electronic devices in my classes because students have tried to steal my clout,” she said. “If I wasn’t so strict, students would try to get free collabs with me.”

Ms. Spear has another reason for her technology lockdown – her own safety. Many students have wondered why Ms. Spear is in a wheelchair right now, and in our exclusive interview, she explained why.

“My TikTok opps [opposition] ran up on me one day and broke my legs. I was just out on a walk with my precious babies [her dachshunds] and TikTok creator @thepitbulllover72 let her pitbulls loose on me. My dogs [Eli (RIP), Zack, Levi, and Simon] were no match for her pitbulls [Sparkles, Precious, Angel, and Destroyer],” she said.

Despite this setback, Ms. Spear has continued to produce her daily TikTok content. She also plans on retaliation for this tragic attack.

“They may have broken my body, but they haven’t broken my spirit. My pups and I are gonna get our get back,” said Ms. Spear.
