Hydroflasks, Yetis, Owala, oh my! Each of these water bottles have been taking over St. Pius X for the last five years, but 2023 is the year of the Stanley. Now that students are no longer required to use clear water bottles, the hallways, classrooms, and lunchroom are filled with Stanleys in a wide variety of sizes and colors.
Not only are they popular at school, but we have a direct connection to the company that’s becoming a household name. The Senior Vice President of Global Commerce at Stanley, Mr. Matt Navarro, is a 1994 graduate of St. Pius. When asked about his personal collection of Stanleys, Mr. Navarro said he likely has “too many to count” and even has “multiple drawers for accessories and multiple cabinets for cups in [his] house!”
Watch the video above to hear directly from students and teachers why Stanleys are their water bottle of choice–or for some, why not!
Editor’s Note: After interviewing Mr. Navarro, he was gracious enough to send the entire newspaper staff Stanley tumblers. Thank you so much, Mr. Navarro! We will carry them proudly through the halls!
