On October 29, St. Pius X partnered with the American Red Cross to host the annual Fall Blood Drive.
“It’s a great way to donate because you are giving blood to people in need,” said Director of Campus Ministry Ms. Miranda Contreras. “The people receiving it won’t know if they have another day. We are fortunate to have so many people willing to donate.”
The blood drive was open to all teachers and students older than 16, and, just like in previous years, every available sign-up was filled. Eligible St. Pius students were glad to give to this important cause.
Sophomore Stella Prevost said, “I signed up for the blood drive because it’s a simple way to make a difference and support those in critical need.”
Donors can download the Blood Donor American Red Cross mobile app, which notifies them when their donation is on its way to a patient and allows them to track the number of people their blood helped. Just one pint of blood saves three lives.
St. Pius will host another blood drive in the spring, which the school expect to be just as successful.
