Chorus program perfoms “Songs of Hope” Wednesday evening

Miles Johnson, Editor-in-Chief

The St. Pius X Singers are hosting their first performance of the year, “Songs of Hope,” on Wednesday, October 5 at 7:00 pm in the Young Center. They will be joined by the Advanced Women’s Choir, and this also be the first show for new Chorus Director Mr. Mike Abreu.

Senior Parker Scott said that she’s “so excited to get back in front of a crowd and make music with the chorus family.”

Featured songs include “Ad Astra” and “A Patch of Light,” which both reflect the hopeful theme of the show.

Sophomore Emma Pearce said her favorite song is “Ad Astra” because “there’s a part where we’re singing the same parts but it’s staggered, and I feel like that creates a really cool tone.”

Tickets are being sold at spxarts.booktix.com for $10, and each student receives one free ticket. The show also offers reserved seating, so you can sit with your friends and enjoy an inspiring and talented performance from the chorus program.
