Social media is buzzing with the ongoing tension between influencers Alix Earle and Alex Cooper. Both creators, coincidentally named Alex/Alix, have captured immense attention online, and the drama has even made its way into conversations in the halls of St. Pius X Catholic High School.
The “beef” originally appeared to be more of a business fallout than personal drama. Earle had signed with Cooper’s Unwell Network and launched her podcast Hot Mess, but the show was suddenly dropped — the first domino to fall.
Neither creator initially addressed the situation directly, but Earle played a different game online. She liked and reposted hateful posts directed toward Cooper while also commenting antagonizing messages on some of them. Cooper later responded, urging Earle to own up to her own issues. Earle replied simply, “On it!”
Cooper, known for her colder and more indirect interview style, later appeared to take subtle shots at Earle, further fueling the feud and sparking a surge of polarizing videos from influencers and even St. Pius students.
“Alix Earle has been in the TikTok influencer industry longer, and also, I don’t think Alex Cooper would be where she is without Alix Earle,” said sophomore Stella Wirtz.
Pushing the narrative that Earle is on top, junior Olivia Swanegan said, “I just think Alix Earle is more relevant than Alex Cooper ever was.”
Others are completely unaware of the drama.
“I don’t really have an opinion on the drama. I just think Alex Cooper is better; I like her podcast better,” said sophomore Katy Rivers.
“I’m rooting for Cooper as a concept. I don’t know anything about the beef,” said junior Adela Ntardzenyuy.
Others are simply tired of the flood of celebrity drama taking over their feeds.
“I just think it should be over online,” said sophomore Margot Reid.
The question still remains: Alex or Alix? Which one will win the internet’s support in this online debate?
