The St. Pius X Lion Leaders hosted Camp Golden Lion, an annual event designed to help acclimate the freshman class to their new school with food, fun, and games.
The night began with Mass in the new air-conditioned gym for parents, freshmen, and Lion Leaders. After Mass, parents went to the Young Center Lobby for a presentation from administration while the students stayed in the gym with their Prides for a spirit and costume competition. Each Pride had a different theme: Neon, USA, Western, Christmas in August, Tacky, and Pajamas, and some students went all out with their costumes, like junior Savannah Stone who wore a Santa suit and a long white beard.
Students were then free to eat pizza and hang out in both gyms to play a variety of games including cornhole, spikeball, knockout, and an inflatable obstacle course. Face painting and bracelet making was also available as well as the chance for the Class of 2027 to put their handprints on their class banner.
